News Archive November 2011.

November 29th 2011 - After interest with the full results of the recent 'Prize Night' I've created a new page for you and it is to permanently record results from ALL prize nights and club 'open' indoor and outdoor shoots. The page is accessed from the 'site menu' and is called 'Club Results'. I have recorded any results that I could find and Kath hopes to provide other results from previous 'Prize Nights' to be added at later dates. I hope you like them?

November 24th 2011 - Prize Night FULL presentation list loaded and available from the 'prize night' tab on the site menu. If your award ain't there it's because I don't know about it!

November 23rd 2011 - First the important stuff. I should welcome the new members who shot at the club on Tuesday and, obviously, posted PB's. Unfortunately I have no names yet so I cannot publicise them, but as soon as Kath can pass on the details then I'll complete the entry. Luke Fittes did PB though with a hearty 564, I believe? If not it was 565. As for me, well I'm shooting pretty poorly just now but it could be worse! Today though, when everyone was at school or work I rowed from Mandello del Lario to Lecco across Lake Como. Well I visualised it as Lake Como! All I needed was the leisure centre cafe to be open and I could have popped in for a coffee and panini.... but it wasn't so I had to go home. Next. I have re-enabled the link to the handicap tutorial area. I've installed my bodge to all the pages in that section in the hope that, if the ISP is hacked again, the malware will miss our site. You have my apologies for all this hassle but I can promise that it's beyond my control. And now to Saturday and that will be the first of three George McGowan indoor rounds. Best two from three taken to find the winner. Finally I hope to insert the details of the recent prize night so your name will not be lost from the record. That's a future enhancement so don't look for it quite yet! With that..... see you all on Saturday?

November 21st 2011 - IMPORTANT NOTICE. The web hosting service that we use has had what is called a code injection attack and all sites hosted by them may have been compromised. This one included. It happened in July of this year and I had hoped that we would see no more of it, but alas, we have. By some fluke I forgot to take the bodge off the site in July so we may have been lucky but I need to remove the link to the 'handicaps' tutorial. As soon as I've bodged the tutorial I'll put the link back. Just please take care. It isn't just us. The county has been hit also (a lot worse) and I'm in the process of having the dnaa site re-tested for rubbish. To quote a phrase, I am not amused!

November 15th 2011 - Sorry for being missing from the club for a few days but I'm not too well just now! Let's just say that I prefer to be near the loo. Very near! I've loaded the results of the club indoor open onto the county web site so you can view them there. I've also loaded the 'Welcome to Killingworth Archers' booklet that is written with new members in mind. That is available from the 'site map' page and was created by James. Thanks also to Richard who has posted the change of venue for the Prize Night onto the facebook page. It will be held at Bates Cottage Cricket club just between the signs that say 'Seaton Delaval' and 'Hartley'. OK? Good as I'm now away once more to take guard at the door of the loo! Oh! I've restarted the 'winter league' results above for those interested?

November 7th 2011 - Well, it's over for another year! It would have been nice if the heating had been on in the school as it got darn cool as the day went on. Thanks to everyone who helped or offered help over the whole week-end. It took longer to set up as we were limited to two trailers so Saturday's session was later to start than it should. All the new bosses are safely secured in storage but even that move took three round trips. However, it's done! 'Well done' to all the winners and it looks like the club did pretty well overall. I have to admit I was camped at North Shields as the bosses were transported there so my apologies if you wondered why I was missing from the award presentations. Just couldn't risk the school closing before we got everything moved. I'm sure Kath will have the results as soon as humanly possible and I shall post those on the county web site once received. Once again, thanks. If you wish have a look at the photos that appear on Richard's facebook page. See most of you on Tuesday?

November 4th 2011 - Did you read the final news for October??? No? Then go to the archive because I've copied it over to there! Today's entry is to announce that Kath has sent me the latest indoor handicaps and records and they have been posted to the site already. The final final outdoor records still need to be reviewed in case any late records were broken, but Kath is busy with county matters and prize night admin so the outdoor records may have to wait a while. Still waiting to have confirmed what venue we are to have for the prize night so keep checking the site. Remember that we're preparing for the club open on Saturday so we have a bit extra to do before we leave the school. See you there.
