News archive May 2010May 25th 2010 - Now for a quick review of our meeting where it's relevant! Kath Hall has been awarded the 'Helping Hand' at the recent GNAS post A.G.M. meeting. This is an award from coaches (Nationally) for the person judged to have contributed highly in the previous year towards coaching. This is not always 'hands-on' but in Kath's case for the effort in management for all the coach based activities through the year. We are to hold a pre-booked 'have-a-go' on June 20th, (Sunday) from 10 up to 12 noon, and a four week intensive beginners course is to be held starting on June 26th from 1pm until 4pm. Let's hope the weather is good for us? Oh! You can still shoot. Don't imagine that normal activites are postponed! ALSO the proceeds of the FITA Star raffles etc (late August) are to go to 'Hazels' memorable Holidays'. A cancer relief charity. Finally Kath needed clarification on what rounds we are to accept as suitable for OUTDOOR club records. This is the result: for Novice Archers ANY outdoor round. For the remainder of us, only rounds that are valid in the table for classification. What that suggests is that a round that is not valid for an 'over 18' cannot be valid for a club record for a senior once they pass out of the 'novice' year. I'll try to make up a table for you to make it easier..... but not just right now 'cos I'll have to think carefully about it! And that's about all for now!
May 23rd 2010 - Yesterday was the 'club champs' at the field and the 'winter' prize night at the KYPC! Both well attended but hot, very hot, for both. Today is to be hotter and I was on the beach at 7-30 and it was just like the med! Never seen so many people on the beach that early! My little outside thermometer reads 41 degrees already (9-30) but the site weather forecast says showery? Strange! For those who weren't at the prize Night we have certificates and other bits for you so I'll keep my stuff handy in case I see any of you? If not I'll catch you sometime? May 20th 2010 - Loaded today - a few photos from Mary. Some exist on the 'journal' pages but these ones are bigger! See you on Saturday for the 'westerns' and later for the 'winter' prize night? May 16th 2010 - Ten more days already and not a peep from me! Truth is I've been helping with printing for the recently held Regional Coaches conference and it's a slow job when the printing is all colour. That was completed for the week-end just gone so, for the first time this season, I may actually shoot on Tuesday. Also you may notice that I've changed the weather forecast link. Now connecting to the met office, I hope it will be useful? I've shown only three days as I find that longer than this tends to be flaky... but that's just my feeling. See you Tuesday? Helen says "thanks" to all those who have stumped up money for her, with only a few more to corner before the total from the 'team' is announced. May 6th 2010 - For those who sponsored Helen on the Sea to Sea (coast to coast) over the bank holiday....... She did it (photo 'dipping' the front wheel in the North Sea after dipping the back wheel in the Irish Sea) and will be looking out for her sponsorship to 'tiny lives' quite soon! I've archived the April news now except the details of the prize night. Almost done is Mary's Part 2 of her trip to Nigeria. Available now. April 26th 2010 - Club Indoor presentation evening will be Saturday 22 May in the pavilion (buffet and bar) and we hope to make it 'free' to members.... just like last time! Cost, probably £2.50 per person for 'guests'. Why? Because we have to pay for a license this time to add to the other expenses for the night. Tickets available from Saturday from Edna, Mary and Kath (so we can judge the numbers expected).
