News Archive - June 2010.

June 30th 2010 - The newest version of club records for outdoors has been loaded and comes to eight files. Kath has included extra rounds so you may see some changes, moreso with the ladies. I also have included a link to the 'July' round rota and this is on the home page. You may see that I've put a new notice in the container encouraging the use of newer target faces when needed. In essence, if your face is sagging, wrinkled or just plain worn out then, by all means, take a newer one. For my part, I will try to make sure that you have a number all ready for use and rolled up in the bag near the door? Have another good Saturday. Week 2 of the beginner's course due so remember to use the 'far' side of the range?

June 23st 2010 - Clout Records have beeen updated but only Gents Records have changed.

June 21st 2010 - Congratulations should go to Sam Hood who put in a new National Record (subject to ratification) for a Double Bristol round at Morpeth recently. Next time you see Sam say 'Well done'.

June 20th 2010 - Before I forget (again) it will be the annual 'Pairs' evening on Tuesday coming (22nd). Held on the evening nearest the start of summer (the longest day!) this is a shoot where two archers pair up as a 'team' based on handicap. All teams will have roughly balanced handicaps so any 'pair' can win. Come along and have a crack!
Such was the wind on Saturday that while I was at the regional meeting the club day was called off quite quickly due to the direction and strength of the wind. In other words it was blowing the bosses over! Today, however, we had quite a nice day for the pre-arranged 'corporate' day at the field. Thanks go to Luke and Daniel for their help (as well as Kath, Charlie, Edna, Helen et al) BUT a huge thank-you to Margaret Fittes who provided teas, coffees and home baked cakes to everyone. Splitting the field down the middle allowed us to shoot simultaneously so we all had a chance of some fun. OH! I cleaned out the storage container so wear gloves when you go in there. I'll inspect it for dust now!
My final note is early for the event, but worth a mention now. We could manage the 'corporate' day quite easily with little extra help but we shall shortly be looking towards the Club Open and FITA Star. (August) If anyone can lend some support, either on the set-up day or afterwards to take it all down, I'd appreciate knowing. It isn't absolutely required to be there all the time, but if we can rely on you being there for a specific job, that would be most helpful. More on this nearer the time!

June 2nd 2010 - Congratulations to Keith and Barbara who had birthdays this last week, and to those who shot at Walker over the (wet) Bank holiday just gone. I know James posted a personal PB for the Saturday and looked to have improved it for the Sunday? Also to those who braved the damp on the field on Tuesday after (another) a day of rain. Please remember that we have no shooting on 12th June due to the 'boys' club holding a father's fun day. Helen has now collected everything from everyone to hand into the 'Tiny Lives' charity. I think her little part raised about £260 or 70 pounds but I'll report the full amount from all the 7 girls / Ladies who completed the cycle ride once I know it myself. I've archived the May news into that section so if you think you may have missed anything.... look there.
