January 29th 2010 - clog from our intrepid nurse Mary - "It is so hot today I think I am going to melt. Today I went to the press conference for the polio campaign starting tomorrow, it was held by the minister for health, as their honoured guest I was asked to say a few words. Luckily I had been warned that this might happen and I briefly said polio did not exist in the UK due to vaccination, I was interviewed after by 2 news teams who were worried about the safety of the vaccine. I only hope what I said helped? I have visited a local school where one of the ladies who met me works, and I have seen a lot of a very big noisy city with many people around. Tomorrow I will be going out vaccinating luckily the polio here is still on oral vaccine so I don’t have to jab any one. I will hopefully email you all again soon - love Mary." If Mary can get Charlie to be still to get fixed.... these kids have NO chance!

January 28th 2010 - Mary has started on her journey to Africa to temporarily take her nursing skills to those in need out there and and we asked (threatened) that we need a club blog of what she is up to! Shortened to a 'clog'.... and here is her first tentative entry......
"Hi everyone only 6 hours to the off just trying my group address, hope to manage to send you some from Nigeria but I'm not too technically minded so bye for now next time is for real love Mary."
A good start and we wait for those emotive words from our club reporter out there?

But back to the club. On Saturday we will hold the Indoor Club Champs. Plenty of sections and awards so don't stay away because you think you're not 'good enough'!
On Tuesday (26th) we had PB's from Aaran and Ian Graham. Their first of what we hope will be many. 56 for Aaran and 388 for Ian. James Aitcheson put in a 450 and Vicky put in a 93 on a longbow! Well done everyone. We also had presented a few 'challenge' awards and have two '1066' awards to follow, but these two will come later as we (me really) didn't have the certificates ready! Seee you Saturday.... except Mary who will be somewhere in Africa!

January 20th 2010 - Ivan's done it again with a 403 P.B. now so well done Ivan. Hope to see you all on Saturday for the first of 'George's Trophy sessions?

January 14th 2010 - The 'beginner's Course' did start on Wednesday of last week although the weather wasn't good and yesterday's turn out at the 'Wooden spoon' was excellent as we've all had a long break due to the holidays.
One PB was posted and that was: Ivan Stott with a 400 Portsmouth (Recurve)...... well done Ivan.

The 'D.N.A.A. novice' championships, (for those interested) is now to be held at Temple Parks, South Shields, on March 7th and not at Easter as previously planned. You may see the site slowly change as I introduce a wider space for info? I'll try not to goof it up! One final thing... I would like to announce that NO juniors were mis-treated in the production of the Christmas Gallery. 'Wicked Queen' would like it known that she was protecting her 'Quality Street (although other chocolates are available)! Thank-you.

January 7th 2010 - Due to the extreme poor weather Churchill school have stopped the week-end shooting so this provides us with a few problems. This is what we propose but it isn't cast in stone yet! The sessions will re-start on 16th instead of 9th. (We hope) This then results in the George McGowan Worcester needing a shuffle. It is proposed to hold this on 23rd January (instead of 9th). Then the Longbow shoot, which should have been completed on that day may take place on either 19th OR 26th, but we have no definite date yet...... All will be revealed when we can make sense of this weather. Keep your shootin' fingers warm!

January 5th 2010 - Kath has sent the latest Indoor records so these are now loaded. Also I'm tinkering with the gallery area so if it goes belly up for a while you should know why..... but I'll try to be careful?

January 1st 2010 - I've cleared out the 'old' year into archive so please have a peek there if you haven't visited for a while. Tuesday coming is the restart to indoor sessions (provided we don't keep getting very heavy snow!). A happy New Year to everyone.
