December 30th 2011 - Probably the final entry for the club this year I have the club indoor records and handicaps 2011? Thanks to Kath for all these.
December 29th 2011 - From Kath, these are the PBs for December:
20.12.11 Matthew Foreman 250, Ron Mathieson 547, Naimh Bews (Worcester) 109.
13.12.11 Andrew Allonby 413.
10.12.11 25m FITA: Matthew Ross 419, Gordon Dunk 439, Ben Cuthbertson 195, Margaret Fittes 483, Luke Fittes 517, Daniel Ritchie 100, Ron Mathieson 502.
6.12.11 Ben Cuthbertson 322.
December 28th 2011 - For those in the club who frequent the 'Clout' competitions this may be of use. With my 'Regional Web site Admin' hat on! I have just loaded the 2012 diary of known events PLUS the 2011 Imperial and Metric clout Ranking lists. Makes interesting reading?
December 21st 2011 - My final twaddle before the holiday season! Yesterday (Tuesday) was the final club night for 2011. Ron Mathiesen got a PB (Portsmouth 547 I think?) as did a few others and as soon as Kath can get details to me then I'll add to this entry. Turn out was pretty good for the pre-Christmas session and we squeezed a round in. Keep an eye on the home page calendar for re-start dates but at present they are as advertised.
December 19th 2011 - For those who managed to come on Saturday for the Festive shoot a 'thank-you' for the food provided. Sorry that so much had to be taken back home but I could still be eating now had I tried to consume everything provided. As for the 'Christmas Card' collection. From memory I think it totalled about £170-00 and will be sent to the 'Stroke Society'. I will admit that I am trying to work from memory so If I am a little inaccurate you will know why? Tuesday is the final club target evening before even Percy Hedley closes for the break, but will be the first venue to restart after New Year. Have a good Christmas AND New Year and I hope to see everyone in 2012? Unless anything unusual happens I shall carry on this drivel next year? One final thing!! I've reported to the service provider that the dnaa.co.uk site is down. It's not me (as I administrate it) but the site appears to have been deleted from the host. At best they will re-build it for me....... at worst I will have to rebuild the whole site? So if you go to dnaa.co.uk and it reports that it cannot connect, then you know why? Bye all!
December 12th 2011 - Thanks go to Paul Cook for providing a set of 'Indoor' score sheets for anyone to print and use. Alan Bews provided an 'outdoor' set over a year ago and these used to be linked to the rounds page, but as we have both indoor and outdoor sheets now I have created a dedicated page of their own... called 'scoresheets'. Still under the 'jargon' list from the 'site menu' tab. I've cleared the 'November' entries from this news page and should have archived them already? Finally ..... I lost my hat! Just thought you'd like to know that? Found out at 6-30am when I was going to put it on at the beach! I remember taking it into Churchill but as we shot the 25m FITA and it's so congested, I must have left it in the hall. However, in the loft I found an old balaclava from my youth. When I did faintly more energetic things in my spare time! Bright orange so it fits in with our club colours so no problems there! Trouble is it's wool and incredibly itchy. I think Tuesday MAY be a longbow match so any owners of longbow woody things please be prepared! I shall watch in wonderment...... See you on Tuesday if Christmas shopping does not get in your way?
December 6th 2011 - As we have had a committee meeting on Monday I shall recall the tit-bits that you may wish to know about? First, the postal league results were given and I've added these to the link at the top of this page.
Next.... club involvement in DNAA shoots over the summer. You may not realise this but DNAA is the host for the NCAS (Northern Counties) regional shoots through 2012. Over the years our club has been active in hosting these events but due to the limitations upon the field (size and shared use) we were unable to offer a venue this time. As a result the 'Grand Northern' will be hosted at Norton. The '5' counties junior and senior shoot (October) will be hosted by Green Lane. Finally the Regional Indoor (November) will be hosted by Whitburn.
Next.... I've added a link to James's 'Beginner's' booklet from the 'courses' page. This is in addition to the link from the site map page. Most, if not all, web pages are linked to the site map, but in this case it seemed logical to use the courses page also as anyone interested should have gone there first?
Next.... We have for some years, around Christmas, made donations to a charity rather than give cards to other club members. At both Churchill and Percy Hedley should be a 'tub' for donations. Often, also should be a form to say which charity you would choose, were your choice be selected. At the club Christmas Festive shoot (on 17th December) we should draw a charity to receive the collection.
Next.... We should, at each venue, record our arrival and departure on a list. Over the past year or so we have let this slip. It is required for two reasons. 1 - For child protection legislation and 2 - for FIRE safety at venues. The committee would like each member to ensure upon arrival that they note their arrival on the list and, at the same time, pay target fees into the box. This should then allow shooting to start with minimum disruption. If a new list of names is needed it will be provided.
Next.... Postal Match dates. I've got this wrong before but these were agreed on Monday evening. 14th January - Compound and Recurve postals. 17th January - Longbow postal. 18th February - Compound and Recurve postals and 21st February - Longbow postal. I'll enter these on the 'google' calendar also.
Finally.... I'll enter the 'round rota' details onto 'google' and the sessions over Christmas will be as follows: Percy Hedley final session on 20th December and restart after holidays on 3rd January 2012. For Churchill School - Final session on 17th December and restart on 7th January 2012. Our next meeting is not until 6th February 2012. thanks everyone..... see you Tuesday?
