Posted October 25th 2008 The news from the national Clout wasn't brilliant so I'll not mention it TOO loudly but the younger members did OK. If not in the awards they won, but the internal club records they improved. The final outdoor records for the season are now available on the site but only as 'xls' files as they are so much easier for me to post onto the site without a lot of re-formatting. I've included the personal best scores from Saturday as well which still seem to be coming thick and fast! Posted October 18th 2008 While half of the club was away at the National Clout, the other half stayed at home and produced a flurry of 'Personal Bests'. These are all covered on the 'PBs' page. Congratulations go to Keith Ritson who acted as 'field captain' for the day, an unexpected activity which can only have helped on the way to another PB? I'm sure the next entry will cover the exploits of our Clouters when they return from Yorkshire? Posted October 7th 2008 The first saturday produced an absolute deluge of 'personal bests' and these have all been inserted into the 'achievements' page. I must ask that you tell me of your PB's as I don't always hear of them at the time and I DO know I've missed some this season already. I try to place them on the site as a courtesy and it's good to know that members are doing well. My sympathy goes to Eileeen and Sam who had to shoot with me and STILL managed to claim PB's!The first committee meeting of the season has been held and the most important point for you all is about the club PRIZE NIGHT. The cost to members for the buffet evening (Friday 14th November) will be £2-50 for adults and £1-00 for our juniors. The remainder, up to the £3-50 it will actually cost, will be absorbed by the club. This is one night I'd advise you to try to attend as the awards do get spread around. Now a quick mention of other things! Tony was elected as Vice-Chair for the duration of the committee, the 'field' project is slowly progressing but not at the pace we thought. Financially the club is OK but we do have some investment to make for equipment. Our next meeting is planned for 17th November and the next county meeting is planned for 10th November. As I mentioned on the front page, Keith has provided some photos of the FITA Star that the club hosted in August. I'll format these for the site shortly but probably not this week. Posted October 1st 2008 A change has been made to the times for Churchill School. Now 10-30 until 1-30 rather than the earlier times I indicated in my previous posting. The 'winter' presentation evening is being arranged and will be in late October. All those awards that you forget that you were in line for will be presented and a good social night is welcome after this miserable summer! The club open was held recently and it looked as if it was to be a perfect archery day. Nice weather, little wind, but then I hear we had a modest amount of trouble with youngsters plus an irate dog walker! So sad but that's life! |
