Yesterday evening (14th) the club held the annual 'outdoor' prize night where awards gained over the season from April to October were presented. For me, it was a worry, as I had the job of printing all the certificates, once received from Kath, and the thought of making a major blunder always hangs around. Wednesday night was spent boiling up the laser printer and sorting the sheets ready for Friday. With 43 awards and 261 records broken this year alone it was a formidable task. However it's over now and all went well. Thanks to all who came along and Tynemouth Cricket Club whose premises we borrowed for the night. I suppose the shooting standard wasn't the best at the club today after last night, but then it wasn't down to alcohol as most of us had a driving job to do at the end. Maybe it was just a weariness after a night out at the end of a working week?

At the close of the indoor season we have another 'Prize Night' for the indoor awards. Not so many this time and fewer records as the variety of rounds is far fewer.

And now to Christmas! For the previous few years we have not been giving out Christmas cards but putting some money into a box for charity. The way it is done is as follows. Put your money in the 'tub' and enter on the 'sheet' the name of your chosen charity. Come the 'festive' shoot in December we will draw out the name of the charity which will receive all the money. Then after Christmas it will be time to review the club calendar as it is slowly becoming out of date.

While I sit and update the web site and do the 'logical league' stats, outside it's like a war zone, but it must be mentioned that the PB's are still coming in. I think that's because the club has diversified into shooting multiple bow styles..... and long may it last! Congratulations to those who put in 'bests' since we turned from outdoors to indoors.

Today we hosted our club open indoor with a modest turnout compared to previous years but each one as welcome as ever.
Kate Murray, who returned from Paralympic duty only weeks ago, kindly acted as our Lady Paramount and presented the awards. Our thanks go to all the club members who helped in any way to allow the competition to take part and to Graham Baker who brought a selection of tasty goodies to complete the day. Until the county championships next spring we have only our own club days or nights to manage.
I've cleared out last months news and archived the page and this makes the first entry of November.
