Posted 22nd July 2008. The latest records which I received from Kath just prior to going to Stoke Mandeville, are now on the site. These were for Novice Outdoor records. KILLINGWORTH ARCHERS - DATES FOR YOUR DIARY Social events. Saturday 9 August 6.30pm. Barbecue at the Halls - 1 Northumberland Villas, Wallsend, NE28 6QA. Families welcome, £3 Seniors, £2 Juniors, please bring your own drinks, plates and cutlery. Names on the list in the hut please. Archery events The first Wednesday in the month is Junior & Novice night at Burnside School, Wallsend from 6.30pm. Wednesday 16 July 6.30pm There will be an equipment evening in the pavilion covering demonstration of string making, basic equipment maintenance - nocking points, fletching arrows and straightening arrows, fitting nocks and piles etc. To be followed (date to be arranged) by a session covering bow set up, arrow selection, stabilisers, basic tuning etc. To give us an idea of how many to expect, please put your name on the list in the hut if you are interested and if there is anything in particular you would like to be included in these sessions put that on too. Club shoots Fita 2 August sighters 1.15pm 1/2 Fita, 6 dozen arrows, 18 at each distance. Clout 9 August, sighters 10.00am Various distances according to age for the juniors, Gents 180 yards, Ladies 140 yards. It's great fun, even if you have never shot clout before, come and give it a go. Tournaments Killingworth Open Sunday 17 August FITA Star Saturday & Sunday 23 & 24 August These tournaments generate a lot of money for the club but do take a lot of work to organise so if you can offer help before and during the event, great! The lines need re-inforced beforehand (this is Tonys' area of expertise but I'm sure he won't say no to offers of help), equipment needs transported from our storage container in North Shields, we need raffle prizes (see Mary if you have anything). The FITA Star is a World Record Status tournament and attracts archers from all over the country. The Killingworth Open will be set up early on the morning of the shoot, the FITA Star will be set up on the Friday afternoon so if you are available to help please come along. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - Provisional date (we haven't been able to confirm the date is available at the pavilion yet) Tuesday 16 September. Notices will be sent out to all members in August.
