Yesterday was the first leg of the club's 'George McGowan Memorial' shoot which is to be shot over the coming months as three individual shoots which will be totalled up to produce the 'winner'. The shoot is based on 'handicap' so you can all try your best to win the trophy as the handicap system is a great leveller!
I grabbed the results lists and have put on all those sheets that have been marked 'PB', so if you can claim a PB and didn't mark your sheet to that effect, then that will be why I missed you out! All in all I think I would say that the day was well supported BUT as we shot a 25m FITA and space is at a premium then it may have looked 'fullerer'. Now that's put in for Margaret and I will admit it's a new word, but as the TV can claim athletes 'podium' or 'gold' then I can say somewhere is 'fullerer'!

Sadly the PB I posted for Terry on Tuesday actually wasn't a PB so it's been nuked! For those who enjoy the monthly 'frostbite' it SHOULD be shot on Sunday 31st, but watch the weather as that will ultimately dictate if it happens?

PB's loaded for Saturday (24th), A bit of controversy here!
After everyone went home it was mentioned that the targets were at 25 metres but the round was a Bray 2. (25 YARDS!) Anyway, I've put them on as PB's 'cos they were shot at a longer distance and you deserve them!
NEXT week is 'round 1' of the club 'George's Challenge Trophy' in memory of George McGowan. Based on handicap so everyone has a chance to claim the cup!
Now! I've put in a little item on 'handicap' under 'nice to know'. This is for Eileen who did say that handicap was a mystery.

The grist of the latest club committee meeting is this! The Longbow Champs is to be held on February 7th. I'll stick it on the 'dates' page! Financially we're OK and the club raised over £160 for the Christmas Charity.
The 'equipment' nights were poorly supported so we need to look closely at this in the future. The 'postal' league results have been posted on the 'dates' page for you all and the next meeting is due on February 9th!
